NCLEX Basic information
✅ What is NCLEX?
NCLEX = National Council Licensure Examination.
It is the official exam nurses must pass to get a nursing license in the United States and Canada.
If you want to work as a nurse abroad (especially USA), passing NCLEX is compulsory.
✅ Types of NCLEX
NCLEX-RN → for Registered Nurses
NCLEX-PN → for Practical / Vocational Nurses
Since you are in nursing studies, mostly NCLEX-RN will matter.
✅ Purpose of the Exam
The exam checks whether you are safe and ready to care for patients as a beginner nurse.
They test:
Knowledge
Critical thinking
Decision making
Patient safety
✅ Exam Pattern (New Generation NCLEX)
It is a computer-based adaptive test.
Number of questions:
Minimum: 85
Maximum: 150
Time: about 5 hours maximum.
If you answer correctly, questions become harder.
If wrong, easier.

Around $200 (may vary).
✅ Pass or Fail?
Result usually within few days.
If fail → you can write again.
